I Want to Reconnect with My Husband – Tips to Improve Your Marriage

Article by Gillian Reynolds

“I wish I knew how to reconnect with my husband.” Does that sound like something you’ve been thinking or saying recently? Marriage is much tougher than anyone tells you it is before you say “I do.” It’s filled with challenges and compromise. Over time, with the added stress of balancing a budget, working full time and raising children it’s inevitable that things will change. If you feel disconnected from your husband and you want that to change, you need to take action now to ensure that happens. With the right approach you can reinvent your relationship and draw him closer to you than he’s ever been before.

One of the first steps to take if you want to reconnect with your husband is get to know him again. This may sound silly given the fact that you see him each and every day and the two of you live in the same home. However, many couples fall out of touch with one another for the simple reason that they don’t put in the effort to stay connected. Plan some time each day when you can just talk to him. It may be over coffee in the morning before the two of you leave for work, or during an evening walk together around the neighborhood. Your focus with this is to plan some one-on-one time for just the two of you so you can talk about everyday, ordinary things.

You also need to keep the romance growing within your marriage if you want to stay connected to your spouse. You may be accustomed to the idea of a man romancing a woman, but you can certainly take the reins and sweep your husband off his feet. Leave a suggestive note in his briefcase so he’ll find it after he gets to the office. Another great tip to make him feel closer to you and more loved is to call him unexpectedly during the day just to tell him how much you love him and how grateful you are to be his wife. This will impact him just as much as it would you if the roles were reversed.

Although it does take effort to keep your marriage alive and thriving, it’s well worth it. Start showing your husband how much you really do cherish him and your marriage. You two will find that your relationship will grow stronger and stronger with each passing day.
